Community Management - for Users
Tools for managing a community, reporting and blocking
Overview
Fairground is committed to keeping its community vibrant and welcoming. To help maintain a positive space for everyone, we've introduced the following tools:
- Blocking – stop a specific user from contacting or interacting with you
- Reporting – flag content or behaviour and IP infringements that violates our community guidelines
- Banning – remove a user's access to your paid community (available only to Artists, Venues, Labels and Promoters)
1. Blocking and Reporting
Blocking Users
Any user can block any other user on Fairground. Blocking hides the blocked user's posts from your feed using a database-level filter — they won't know they've been blocked.
How to Block
1. Visit the user's profile
2. Tap the block icon at the top of the page (Do we next text prompt to appear when cursor hovers over icon?)
3. Choose one of two options:
- Block - Blocks the user immediately
- Block & Report - Blocks the user and opens a report form
What Blocking Does
- The blocked user's posts are hidden from your feed
- The blocked user's featured posts are filtered out for you
- Blocking does not cancel True Fans subscriptions or affect purchases
What Blocking Does Not Do
- It does not prevent the blocked user from viewing your profile
- It does not filter them from search results
- It does not remove their comments on your posts
Unblocking
1. Go to Profile > Settings > Blocked Users
2. Find the user in your blocked list
3. Tap Unblock
Reporting Content
If you see content that violates Fairground's guidelines, you can report it. Reports are reviewed by the Fairground moderation team.
What Can Be Reported
- Posts
- Photos
- Videos
- Music tracks
- Albums
- User profiles
How to Report
1. Tap the block icon on a user's profile and choose Block & Report, or use the report option on a specific piece of content
2. Select a report type:
- Offensive - For content that violates community guidelines
- Copyright - For content that infringes your copyright (DMCA-style)
Offensive Report
Choose a reason:
- Hate speech
- Nudity
- Violence
- Harassment
- Spam
- Other
You can also provide additional context to help moderators understand the issue.
Copyright Report
The copyright report form collects the information required for a formal takedown request:
- Your contact information (name, phone, email, address)
- Your relationship to the copyrighted work
- Details of the infringement
- A declaration and signature
What Happens After Reporting
1. The report is logged with a pending status
2. A Fairground admin receives an email notification
3. The admin reviews the report in the moderation panel
4. The admin takes one of these actions:
- Remove Content - The reported content is soft-deleted
- Ban User - The reported user receives a platform-wide ban (for profile reports)
- Ignore - The report is dismissed if no violation is found
