Events - for Creators

Events are a core part of Fairground, connecting artists, venues, promoters, and fans around live music and events. Artists, venues, labels and promoters can all create and manage events.

Creating an Event

1. Go to your Profile > Events > Add Event

2. Fill in the event details:

Basic Info

  • Name (required) - The name of the event
  • Event Type - Party, Gig, DJ, or Other
  • Event Date/Time (required)
  • Start Time and End Time (optional)

Ticketing

  • Free Entry - Toggle on if the event has no cover charge
  • Price - Set a ticket price if not free
  • Ticket Link - URL where fans can buy tickets (e.g. Eventbrite, Dice, your website)
  • Sale Date - When tickets go on sale
  • Announce Date - When the event is publicly announced

Location

  • Venue/Location - Search for and select a location with address lookup and map
  • Capacity - Maximum number of attendees

Description and Media

  • Description - Rich text description with headings, lists, and formatting
  • Profile Photo - The main event image
  • Cover Photo - A banner image for the event page

Dice Integration

Fairground integrates with Dice, a UK ticketing platform. When creating an event, you can import directly from Dice:

  • Event name, dates, and times
  • Venue and address details
  • Capacity
  • Ticket link and pricing
  • Event images

Imported data can be edited after import.

Event Page

Each event has a dedicated page that displays:

  • Header with date, location, and pricing
  • Ticket info with price and a link to buy tickets
  • Description in full rich text
  • Location with an interactive map
  • Lineup of performing artists with links to their profiles
  • Venues associated with the event
  • Promoters and organisers
  • Latest music from the headlining artist
  • Merch from the headliner (if they sell merchandise)
  • Discussion feed where fans can post and comment about the event

Discovering Events

Browse events from the Events section of the app:

  • Trending Shows on the Home feed - Popular upcoming events
  • Events area on the Artist profile- Events from artists you follow
  • Hot Events on Scene feed - Events from artists and venues participating in this scene
  • Events display with date and venue information at a glance

Who Can Create Events?

The following account types can create events:

  • Artists - Promote your gigs and shows
  • Venues - List events happening at your space
  • Promoters - Advertise the events you're organising
  • Labels and Curators - Promote industry events and showcases
